When will EIP-0027 begin?

Many are curious and eager to understand when Ergo’s proposed Soft-Fork, EIP-0027, will begin.

Below is our best estimate, calculated on 1/7/2022:

  • 40,455 Blocks from right now until the SF would go into effect
  • Roughly 720 Block Per Day
  • 40,455/720 = 56 Days remaining until SF initiates
  • The voting for soft-fork lasts for 32 epochs (32,768 blocks ~ 46 days), 90+% support is needed to activate the protocol upgrade.

This means the Voting for Soft fork will start approximately 01.17.2022
